RANDOM THOUGHTS TODAY
49THE OLD DAYS
I have chronicled most of my old days on past hubs about my capers and my memorable Christmas. I also talked about Grandpa Whitworth’s time in the Moundsville pen. Life seemed much simpler in those older days. People had disagreements, but they always seemed to try to work them out in the end. I never before questioned the motives of our national leaders back in the old days, but things are changing
NATIONAL DEBT
I guess the national debt could be categorized as a present concern as well as a concern about future doom and gloom. I did a calculation about our national debt to put it into perspective we can all understand.
Start on the day of your birth and assume you are given $1.00 per second all your life. How long would you have to live to accumulate the $12 trillion dollars that equals the national debt if you assume no spending? (If you check be sure to use 365.25 days per year.)
The answer gives us perspective on the massive amount. Ready Set Go here it comes.
380,257 + YEARS!!!!!!!!
Wow that’s a long time and that’s also a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
I don’t always watch the ceremonies of The National Day of Prayer, but I was watching today February 4,2010. I wasn’t paying attention to all the speakers, but when I heard President Obama announced it got my attention. I got up from my computer and sat out of my Internet poker game to watch his speech.
I thought I had made a mistake when the speech first started because it sounded almost identical to the talk he gave to the Democrats last week. I think he recycled his political speech with a few religious references thrown in for the crowd.
This speech took place in the present, and talked about the future. It took me back to the past in my days in Sunday School when we studied Revelations. I was reminded of The Beast in Revelations.
I have heard at least seven presidents address this occasion, but never before in such a blatant political manner. Maybe he should be praying about the national debt, and the November elections.

Tom, I though his message was certainly lacking. I didn't get to hear Tim Tebrow's prayer which I'm sure I would have enjoyed.
Tom he pronounced 'corp' as 'corpse' and was insincere. I do believe he recycles his speeches, after all he doesn't believe what he says, so reading a teleprompter is just movement of his lips.
Something tells me Obama as very uncomfortable at this event and would have preferred to skip it.
Thanks for sharing with us. Guess we sure won't ever see this debt paid off during our lifetimes. I applaud you for watching the idiot-in-chief, I can only handle him in VERY small doses. That snotty ass way he lifts his chin up high to allow him to look down his nose at all of us---INFURIATING!!!
I'm sorry to hear this guys. I have not wachted. Let's be prayerfull and pleading with GOd for his mercy for all of us.
Thanks Tom
Our fellow Americans have gotten us into quite a pickle with their crazy antics in the poling booth last election. Hopefully, we can rectify this situation this fall.
National debt is bad, but Europe is much worse. That is why the dollar is getting stronger.
Tacky, tacky. Not your Hub--his "speech." Your Hub is great!
Must check this out -maybe youtube has it-no point drawing comparisons between Europe and USA ,they're in this together, like birds of a feather.
